How to get Involved

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, donating whistles or becoming a sponsor to keep our community safer please send email to info@castropatrol.org or speak to one someone that you see on a neighborhood patrol.

Become a Patrol Volunteer for CCOP

Help out the Castro Community and CCOP by becoming an active patorl volunteer. Patrol volunteers join two or more other patrol volunteers on a patrol team once a month. They are the life-blood of CCOP, and they are the front line in our ability to provide safety information and advice, distribute safety whistles, and help protect our community.

All patrol volunteers are tained by CCOP in cooperation with the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD), Triangle Martial Arts Association (www.TriangleMAA.org), and San Francisco Safety Awareness For Everyone (www.SFSAFE.org) The training is conducted throughout the year and requires patrol candidates to:

  1. Pre-register for one of our up-coming training classes
  2. Read the training document that will be forwarded to you by e-mail or USPS before the class
  3. Coomplete a 1.5 hour practical training during the class you pre-registered for.

Patrolling is fun, productive, and worth-while for everyone. You can select which nights work best for you, and you can even arrange to go out on patrol with friends, family, or loved ones if they are also qualified patrol members.
