The Castro Business District (www.castrocbd.org) is putting on a fantastic series of live, free concerts in Jane Warner Plaza twice a month this summer.  CCOP participates during the concerts to provide safety whistles and information to concert goers and also keep revelers from inadvertently walking into the F-Market & Wharves train as it departs for downtown.

Today’s concert featured Klezmania, a contemporary representation of klezmer music, founded in San Francisco May of 1989.  You can find Klezmania on iTunes and Facebook.

Despite today’s mildly inclement weather, our patrol volunteers distributed 500 safety whistles to the crowd, bringing the total number of whistles distributed from this weekend alone to 2100!  Then we enjoyed the music of Klezmania and mingled with the band and the crowd.

Klezmania performs for the crowd at Jane Warner Plaza on June 23rd, 2013. TPtlr. Raymundo Valdez enjoys Klezmania’s performance!
